Project summary
Objectives
Local energy communities (LECs) bring together citizens, businesses and local authorities to collectively own and operate distributed energy resources and services.
E2-CUTIES aims to empower six existing LECs to create integrated energy systems: one in Balbriggan (Fingal, County Dublin, IE), one in Leuven (BE), one in Strasbourg (FR) and three in Utrecht (NL).
The project will also showcase the fruitful cooperation amongst local stakeholders on integrated energy systems and will serve as an inspiration for other energy communities based in North-West Europe.
Ouputs
E2-CUTIES will elaborate one jointly developed Method to create LEC Investment propositions, including four toolboxes and a step-based roadmap, and two integrated energy system concepts will be tested in practice (in Leuven and Strasbourg).
The outputs will be disseminated to
LEC stakeholders throughout Northwest Europe through a capacity-building programme.
